Focus on verbs, not nouns...

I seems to me that libraries are one way of organizing information and/or knowledge. Initially our assocation name focused on this by including the name library. Now it seems most of the suggestions are focused on what is being organized: information and/or knowledge. While I think this is a good start, what about focusing on the action: organizing. Or aligning, connecting, etc. My main issue with "libraries" is that it leaves out the user and focuses on the object. I think this is true with the terms information and knowledge as well. As it says on the top of this page our organization - and we as professionals, no matter what our title - are about "connecting people and information". I think our new name should focus on that.

I actually think ALIGN would be a good acronym - but I can't think of anything appropriate for "g". (Guru is a little too much and gnosis which I actually like the technical defination of, has become too much of a religious term).

I like the 'action verb' approach to focus on what we do.  CONNECT would be a fun acronym but I'm not even going to try make up the worlds that would fit that.
