Any one is welcome to add to this page. Wikis are content management systems and, as such, are viable Web solution. Below are a few examples of wikis.
- Confluence - Many companies have been purchasing this tool for their enterprises. Wiki tool selected by SLA for its members.
- Google bought JotSpot - Not yet available on Google's offerings. Google now has the ability to offer a handful of useful online tools including blogs, maps, word and spreadsheets, calendars, etc.
- TikiWiki - Full-featured wiki/CMS/groupware PHP-based application.
- MediaWiki - Social software for communities that want to actively collaborate on ideas and projects. Our very own SLA KM wiki is using MediaWiki.
- Wetpaint.com - This tool combines wiki/blog technology. It's a free service and appears to be offering some pretty cool features. Here's an example that may resound in the corporate world: American Express' Executive Travel Magazine.
- Wikidot.com - An interesting wiki that allows for tiered security, forums, etc. Check out how Syracuse University's Science and Technology Librarians have creating a training and knowledge management tool called Refworks. Free and commercial accounts available.
- Wikispaces - Free and commercial hosted wiki service with subscription and viewer options. Can be used a person switchyard, for collaborative writing, teaching and projects.
- WikiMatrix - Offers a comparison grid of wiki features and functionality. Good starting place if you have not yet selected a wiki application.
