In a LinkedIn discussion in the SLA group, I have been asking about different social collaboration suites to be used in an office. Several people suggested that the Knowledge Management wiki would be a good place to ask about this software. I have presented a table here to try to help compare them. Admittedly, the best and worst features are specific to how they relate to my organization and the context in which I would use the software.
Please feel free to edit this posting by clicking HERE to access the spreadsheet and add additional information or any missing/more specific data to what exists. Also, if there is a better place for this table to be, please feel free to move it. Any help with creating a useful evaluation of these products would be appreciated.

As the President of the company, you no doubt have some insight. Plus, it probably helps to lay out features in a way that a discerning customer might. A lot of these companies aren't very forthcoming about this sort of information, whether intentionally or otherwise.
I also look forward to any additions, corrections, or alterations that Karen or others wish to make in the future.

Karen, do you have any other products to add? Would be interested to learn about them.

My experience is primarily with the free version now called just "Google Apps" as well as "Google Apps for Business" which we've rolled out at NGS. I think we could also include Atlassian's Confluence and would like to hear more from people using SharePoint.
What do you all think about making this table into a Google form that we could share people's input as a sortable spreadsheet? I also wanted a few more columns/categories. Is anyone else interested in knowing a little bit more about each application? If so, what additional information would you want to know?

I had sent an e-mail to Atlassian to request a free trial, but they didn't get back to me. Our organization is in the Small to Medium Enterprise category, so maybe we aren't their target market. The price seems about right though.
I have been using Basecamp, and our organization seems to be leaning towards Sharepoint, so I will probably be able to add these in the next few months too. If someone else wishes to add them though, I would have no problem with that.
Adding the table to a Google form would be fine by me, although would it maintain its wiki-ish collaborative style?
As for other information about each application, I am not entirely satisfied with Best/Worst Feature, although some subjective judgments help to give you an idea of how people might use the software.
Some heading suggestions: Searching, WYSIWYG/Markup, Marketing to SMEs / Large Corporations / Governement / Non-profits, levels of access, Security, Support, Training

Anyone who wants to contribute can easily update/add information to it. There's a link above OR you can copy and paste this link to add your ideas: https://spreadsheets.google.com/a/cybersailors.org/ccc?key=0Atvp3xCDtKjudEhrcm1KNlhfMFRpVHBCR1p4bzFPbEE&hl=en&authkey=CMHzt6MJ . There's a definitions tab as well. It would be helpful to have others weigh-in on the ideas expressed here since some of the columns were not completely clear as to the interpretation. Thank you!
