Imagining Knowledge Government Access in Virtual Worlds
Convention Center, Room 150A

A critical convergence is occurring for the average worker between more computing capabilities, access/increased internet bandwidth, the shear amount of information that is available in databases, and the visual as well as collaborative capabilities of virtual worlds.  This convergence enables a new way to think about interacting with complex database environments in analytical workspaces both individual and collaborative.  We are challenged to imagine new ways of presenting and working with large amounts of information to solve complex problems.  In our presentation, the panel will address the capabilities virtual worlds and the pieces that need to be put into place to imagine the future

Competitive Intelligence and the Government Librarian
Convention Center, Room 144B
The principles of competitive intelligence (CI) and analysis are not reserved for the private sector. This is also true of specific federal agencies and of their libraries, which perform CI are behalf of their parent agencies and in their own right.
