Immediate Past President Overview

Election: Office is the fulfillment of the final year of a three-year commitment to the Chapter offices of First Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President. No election for the office is held. If the office is vacated for any reason, the Board may elect an additional Director to maintain the number of officers on the board at nine, and fulfill the unexpired term. Traditionally, continues as chair of Nominations committee and then Awards committee.

Qualifications: Successful completion of the offices of First Vice President and Chapter President qualify the incumbent for office.

Term: One year.

Functioning Committee: None.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Immediate Past President shall undertake projects as assigned by the President or recommended by the Board.

Duties

  1. A voting member of the Board; must attend routine Board meeting held throughout the year.
  2. Available for consultation concerning Chapter business.

Files for the Next Immediate Past President

Transfer files to the succeeding Immediate Past President. This would include any program ideas not realized during the year.

Reports

Not required to file any specific reports, however, summaries to any special projects may be requested and submitted to the President for inclusion in the Chapter's annual reports to the Association.

Completed files, working papers, and correspondence of any specific year shall be transferred to the Chapter Archivist for review, selection and storage.

Expenses

Requests for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenditures may be submitted to the Treasurer, and should be accompanied by receipts if available and brief statements concerning the nature of the expenditures. Expenditures in excess of $100.00 require approval from the Executive Board.
