Description:
The SharePoint Support Analyst is responsible for the development and maintenance of SharePoint sites including security, Web parts, custom lists and templates in Windows SharePoint Servers. This position is also responsible to resolve production problems and provide technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day administrative functions such as troubleshooting, site creation, and end-user problem resolution for internal and extranet environments
- Monitor and maintain SharePoint servers; ability to test and deploy hot fixes, updates, and service packs
- Work with IT team and internal clients on SharePoint projects
- Assist consultants with the creation and management of team and project sites
- Demonstrate the benefits of SharePoint through educational workshops, group demonstrations, and one-on-one training
- Manage user permissions
- Facilitate testing, defect resolution, and user acceptance
- Provide production deployment support
- Optimize SharePoint content for indexing and searching, including the management of content tagging
- Identify business requirements and help define the functional experience as an advocate for SharePoint
- Support the roll-out of the sites by conducting group and one-on-one training
- Become the functional expert for the SharePoint sites/applications
- Provide expert advice on the availability of SharePoint capabilities
- Define, implement, and operate a SharePoint governance model that provides structure for site rollouts and content management
- Perform application administration updates
SharePoint experience includes:
- Installation, configuration, and support of SharePoint Enterprise edition
- Knowledgeable of the differences between sites, site collections, workspaces, Web parts, document libraries, and lists
- Customization using Site Definitions, SharePoint Templates, and development of custom Web parts
- Integration with Microsoft Office
- Workflows and SharePoint Designer
- Solid understanding of Windows SharePoint services and MOSS site administration and permissions structure
- Active Directory as it relates and integrates to SharePoint security
Position Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and 4+ years of related work experience
- Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and Windows Servers 2003 and 2008
- Knowledge of Internet Information Server, and Microsoft SQL Server 2008
- Familiarity with financial and CRM applications
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Motivated self starter and team player
- Strong analytical and writing skills
