Welcome to the MITRE Corporation's McLean, Virginia Information Center. MITRE is an independent not-for-profit organization chartered to work in the public interest. MITRE manages three FFRDC's (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers) for the Defense Department, IRS and FAA. We serve MITRE's 6,700 scientists, engineers and support specialists. Most of our collection is digital but our Information Centers provide a collaborative work space, browsing journal collection and public work stations.
