Where can you find other students at the conference?

  1. At the first-timers reception

The first-timers reception, hosted by the SLA Fellows, is on Sunday from 1:00-3:00.  Of course, not all first-timers are students, but almost all students are first-timers, so a lot of students are at the reception.

First-timers also get special colored ribbons for their badges, so keep an eye out for the First-Timer ribbons and look at the badges to see if they list a school as their affiliation.

Another student-oriented event is the Student & Academic Affairs Advisory Council Merit and Scholarship Awards, held on Monday from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.  There should be a good cluster of students and SLA student chapters there.

There is also an "SLA Alumni and Library Schools Connect" social event on Monday at 6:00-7:30 pm.  Here is the description:

Join Library Schools from across the country at this evening reception. The reunion is a great place to make new friends and renew acquaintances, find out who is where and what endeavors have been undertaken. Participating schools include The Catholic University of America, Drexel University, Indiana University, Long Island University, Louisiana State University, North Carolina Central University, Simmons College, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, University of Tennessee, University of Washington, and Wayne State University (as of 23 April 2008).
