Hello all!
One of the amenities the PNW Chapter will offer to conference attendees is
hosting dine-arounds on the Saturday night (June 14) before the opening day
of the conference.
If you aren't familiar with these, a dine-around is a great way to meet
colleagues from other parts of the country, show-off your favorite
restaurant and share local information and insights with fellow SLA-ers.
What it requires from you is the following:
1. Saying, heck yes, I'd love to host a dine-around!
2. Choosing a restaurant that is easy to get to from the convention center
area.
3. Making a reservation at chosen restaurant.
4. Letting me know of the restaurant information.
5. Keeping track of your guest list.
6. Arranging for meeting your group and getting there to the restaurant.
7. Enjoying a meal and showing off Seattle to some new folks!
The only caveat is we want to offer a variety of cuisine choices, so,
perhaps a Mexican restaurant, a Thai restaurant, seafood, NW cuisine,
brew-pub, cheaper, a splurge-worthy restaurant, etc. When you're choosing
places, send me a couple of choices so we can do our best to offer a
variety.
We'll post the dine-around opportunities on the wiki and announce it to SLA
membership. Interested people will notify the host of the restaurant they
are interested in, and the host will keep track of the guests. When the time
comes, you'll coordinate a meeting time & place for your group and off you
go! These dinners are paid for individually, but it's just a really nice way
to be welcoming and meet some new folks.
Please email me if you are interested in being a dine-around host!
Thanks!
Julie
