2006 - The San Andreas Chapter has traditionally provided Certificates of Appreciation for committee members, chairs and officers.  To thank those who volunteered in 2006, Chapter presdent Lee Pharis created an unusual and memorable certificate.  She used a color photograph of the mountains that surround the Silicon Valley where the chapter is based, and imprinted volnteer's name and chapter role, added SLA  and Chaoter logos and her own signature.  She then framed them for presentation,  Rather than going into a file cabinet or drawer, most recipients display these in their office, which is an ongoing reminder of SLA to the member, and an opportunity to build awareness of SLA in the member's organization.
