In January 2008 the Chapter attended Library Night at the Pittsburgh Symphony, hearing a lecture from the symphony librarians, touring the symphony music library, and then attending a sold out performance of the PSO featuring violinist Joshua Bell.

In February 2007 the Chapter toured the Animal Friends no-kill animal shelter, with specific emphasis on the resource library.  This organization is part of a service project on the part of the Chapter.

In October 2006 the Chapter toured the Carnegie Museum of Natural History Library.
