  Pittsburgh Chapter - Partnering

In April of 2008 the [AIIP] conference was held in Pittsburgh.  As a networking event, members of the Chapter hosted several "dine arounds" to AIIP members who were not familiar with the region.  In addition, several Chapter members manned an SLA booth as an exhibit in the vendor hall of the conference.  (SLA HQ has a great table top exhibit to use for such an event, and provided membership literature to be distributed.)  We also had handouts about dining, shopping, and general information about the region available at the booth that the Chapter compiled.

In 2007 a Joint Winter Social was held uniting the Chapter with the Pittsburgh Regional Knowledge Management Consortium, the local American Medical Writers Association, Pittsburgh E-Learning Society and the local Society for Technical Comminication.

In 2005 the Chapter co-hosted a summer networking social with PRKMC and STC (Pittsburgh Regional Knowledge Management Consortium and Society for Technical Communication).  As door prizes at the event, each group offered a paid year membership to their organization.
