  Pittsburgh Chapter - Mentoring

For 2008 our board took a different approach to finding leaders, as we have had a hard time filling leadership roles when they have been emptied.  It became a goal for our leadership to find one "new" member (be they an actual new member or a new-to-leadership member) for each position on the board.  (In 2007 our president revamped the way our board works in that there is a chair who leads a team for each board role.)  Each committee or team now has a combination of experienced long term leaders and new team members who are being mentored.  While the goal is that through this mentorship new people can step into the leadership or chair position of the team, we are also hoping that this will introduce a whole new crop of people to being active mentors and leaders in the Chapter.
