Co-Sponsor an Annual Holiday Party with MALL - December 2008

Given the success of this in the past we are again planning to co-sponsor an annual holiday party with the Minnesota Chapter of Law Librarians.

Co-Sponsor of Library 2.0 Event organized by Health Science Libraries of MN, Sept. 14, 2007

The Health Science Libraries of Minnesota asked if we could join them in supporting this event so that people could attend at an affordable $50 fee.  It featured the internationally known library technology speaker and author Michael Stephens, who kicked off the morning session with an introduction to Library 2.0 and based the afternoon session on his book, Web 2.0 & Libraries: Best Practices for Social Software.  Organized by HSLM and held at the Radisson Hotel in Roseville, MN, the event won rave reviews from all who attended.  As a result of this event, a small group of members decided to explore the opportunity for chapter members to participate in the 9 Week Learning 2.0 plan developed by Helene Blowers of PLCMC as a tool to explore the technologies in an informal group.  They will start the program in January 2008.

SLA and MALL Holiday Party and Silent Auction, December 4, 2006

This year we teamed up once again with the Minnesota Association of Law Librarians (MALL) to host an annual holiday gathering.  The College of St. Catherine SLA Student Group added to the festivities by organizing their annual silent auction.  All proceeds went to a stipend to send a student to the SLA Annual Conference in Denver.  The event was held in the beautiful main reading room of the James J. Hill Reference Library in downtown St. Paul.  There were 54 SLA and MALL members were in attendance.  The event was sponsored by Prenax and the James J. Hill Reference Library.  (The MALL and MN SLA are planning another joint holiday part in 2008.)
