SLA Georgia Chapter welcomes the Leadership Summit to Atlanta!  The

Leadership Hospitality Wiki is your guide to the Buckhead area and the rest of Atlanta.

Thursday - January 26 Update:

1) Summit Reception - THANK YOU for coming to our party! As Elisa Woods acknowledged tonight, our fete would not have been possible without support from SLA Headquarters, our sponsors (see below), our Georgia Chapter Board and volunteers, Neiman Marcus Cafe (shout out to Steve Waugh and his crew!) and, of course, YOU, the Summit participants.

Special congrats to our raffle prize winners: Lora Kloth, Tracey Maleef, James Mancuso, Allison Perry and Rebecca Vargha.

We hope that our reception was the start of a fun-filled evening and the end of a day mixing and mingling with SLA folk.

2) Friday, January 27 -  To those leaving tomorrow, we wish you safe travels. If you used MARTA to get to the hotel, then you'll know how to get back to the airport. Like most other cities, Friday afternoon rush hour begins early, so if your flight is AFTER 3:00 pm, MARTA may be a faster alternative than a shuttle or cab. Liz Bibby and Regina Cannon will be manning the Hosptiality Desk, so be sure to stop by and ask them questions or share your feedback on tonight's reception.

Wednesday - January 25 Updates:

1) Registration - Well, over half of the Summit registrants have arrived! The Georgia Chapter hopes that those who participated in our Dinner Buddies program tonight met some interesting SLAers and enjoyed tasty food! Whether or not you've already checked in, be sure to drop your business card in the fish bowls by the registration / hospitality desks. We are raffling FIVE prizes at Thursday night's Summit Reception. One prize per person and you must be present to win. Sorry, SLA HQ, Board and Georgia Chapter members are not eligible to win. Thanks to the PAM Division for their book bundle donation and to Regina Cannon for preparing our "peach" baskets.

2) Summit Reception - All conference registrants are invited to the Summit Reception Thursday, January 26, beginning at 6:00 pm at the Neiman Marcus Cafe. Directions can be found in the Summit Reception section below. And your two drink tickets should already be in your badge holder, so be sure to wear / bring your name badge with you to the party.

Thank you to our Summit Reception sponsors: Dow Jones, Bloomberg BNA, the Eastern Canada, Kentucky and Southern California Chapters and the Physics-Astronomy-Mathematics (PAM) Division!

Thanks to Ulla de Stricker, SLA Chapter Cabinet Chair, for reminding us to remind Summit attendees about Atlanta's mass transit system, MARTA. You'll find a link to MARTA in our Transportation section. For those who missed our tweet, here are directions using MARTA to get to the Intercontinental Buckhead:

    1) Take a North Springs MARTA train to Buckhead station. Your ride takes you through downtown Atlanta, Midtown and the Lindbergh Station.

    2) Be sure to exit the Buckhead station at Peachtree Road SOUTH (to avoid crossing the street above ground). It's a short distance to hotel.

Why pay for a cab ride when a ROUND TRIP MARTA fare costs just $5!

Safe travels. Our members look forward to meeting you all next week!
